Terms of Service
This is an English translation of the Korean Terms of Service. If the two versions differ, the Korean version prevails.
Article 1 (Purpose)
These terms set out the conditions for using the online calculator, numpad typing practice and ranking features provided by Caltype (the "Service", https://caltype.pages.dev), and the rights and obligations of the operator and users.
Article 2 (What the Service offers)
- Anyone can use the online calculator and the numpad typing practice game for free, without logging in.
- Without signing up, you can submit game results to the ranking by choosing a nickname.
- The Service may show advertising (such as Google AdSense).
Article 3 (Effect of and changes to these terms)
These terms take effect when posted on the Service. The operator may change them within the limits of applicable law and will announce changes on this page 7 days before they take effect (30 days for changes unfavorable to users). If you do not agree to the changed terms, you can stop using the Service and delete your records.
Article 4 (Nickname and recovery code)
- When you create a nickname, the server issues a recovery code once. The recovery code is saved in this browser and is needed to continue with the same nickname on another device, or to get your records back after clearing browser data.
- You are responsible for keeping your recovery code. The operator does not store recovery codes (only their hashes), so a lost code cannot be sent to you again.
- Anyone with the recovery code can submit results under that nickname, change the nickname and delete the records, so do not share it. The operator is not responsible for problems caused by sharing your code.
- You can delete your nickname and records immediately at any time with "My records › Delete records".
- The processing of personal information is governed by the Privacy Policy.
Article 5 (Nicknames)
A nickname has 2–12 characters made of Korean or English letters and digits, and cannot duplicate another user's. Profanity, hateful or discriminatory expressions, sexual expressions, names impersonating others or the operator, and names containing personal information (such as phone numbers) are not allowed. The operator may change such nicknames, or delete them together with their records, without notice.
Article 6 (Prohibited conduct)
Users must not:
- play the game or submit results using macros, automated input programs, scripts or the like;
- create results that are not genuine game results, for example by manipulating or forging requests to submit scores;
- circumvent the Service's security or disrupt its operation with excessive requests;
- use another user's recovery code or impersonate someone else;
- act against the law or public order.
Article 7 (Records and ranking operation)
The ranking is weekly and resets every Monday at 00:00 Korea time (KST). After a reset, past results disappear from the ranking and are deleted after the following week, but nicknames and the personal best records saved in your browser remain. Only results recomputed and verified by the server appear on the ranking. The operator may delete or exclude results that appear to have been obtained by improper means, and may restrict ranking use or delete the nickname and records of users who violate Article 6. If the scoring rules change, earlier results may be shown separately or reset.
Article 8 (Changes to and suspension of the Service)
The operator may change the Service, or suspend all or part of it for maintenance, failures or operational reasons. If the Service is discontinued, this will be announced on the site 30 days in advance.
Article 9 (Limitation of liability)
- The Service is provided free of charge and "as is". Calculator results are for reference; please double-check important calculations by other means. Except in cases of intent or gross negligence, the operator is not liable for damages caused by errors in calculation results.
- Records stored only in your browser (localStorage) may be lost depending on your device environment, and the operator cannot recover them.
- The operator is not liable for damages caused by events beyond its control, such as natural disasters or failures of the hosting provider (Cloudflare).
Article 10 (Copyright)
The rights to the Service's design, code and text belong to the operator. The Freesentation font used in the Service is used under the SIL Open Font License 1.1. Users' nicknames and results are used only for display on the ranking.
Article 11 (Governing law and disputes)
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. For any dispute related to the Service, please first contact sijin90@gmail.com and we will consult in good faith. If no agreement is reached, the dispute will be resolved by the competent court under the Korean Civil Procedure Act.
